The founder of Muddy Waters, Mr. Block, is a sought-after speaker and commentator in financial media, with a proven record of impactful activist campaigns leading to financial restatements and the de-listing of 11 public companies. Prior to founding Muddy Waters, Mr. Block's diverse background included entrepreneurship and law practice in Shanghai, China. His academic credentials include a B.S. in business from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Cecilia joined Muddy Waters in 2023 and was appointed Asia Head of Research in 2026. A specialist in Asian listed equities, she is central to Muddy Waters Asia's investment in Vietnam and is leading its expansion into India. Prior to Muddy Waters, Cecilia advised startups on capital raising across Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and later served as a sales trader at Thien Viet Securities in Vietnam. She has a Bachelors of Arts from Edinburgh Napier University and fluent in English, Vietnamese, French.

Having joined Muddy Waters in 2014, Freddy is a partner and brings valuable expertise to the team in investing throughout Asia. Prior to this role, he served as an equity analyst at Oasis Investments Ltd. in Hong Kong. He holds a B.A. in Finance, Accounting, and Management from the University of Nottingham, England.

Before joining Muddy Waters in 2016, Scott held key positions, serving as the CFO and CCO at Ratan Capital Management, LP. Additionally, he co-founded and served as the CFO at First Oak Capital Management, LP. With over 25 years of experience, his expertise encompasses financial leadership roles. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York, New Paltz.
